Pride8/19/2019
"Do something that will make yourself proud." What does this mean to you? Some may think that this means to be cocky, to boast of their accomplishments because they have so much pride in themselves. The real problem in our world is that people have too much pride. They search for power in their communities because of their pride, or some become so prideful that it interferes with their ability to make good decisions. So that begs the question, what does this quote mean when it says “Do something that will make yourself proud?”
For this, there is a different perspective of pride that needs to be discovered. Notice that the word chosen was “perspective.” This because we cannot write an article that changes the “definition” of pride, but we can show you a different perspective, a lens per se. Pride is not necessarily a bad thing. What makes it a bad thing is when pride becomes an ego. Here, we’re going to focus on the ways that pride can benefit those who hold it. The first thing to recognize is that pride is feeling good about the decisions you make in your life. Think about this, what decisions have you made that you have regretted, no matter how old or young you are? There are some that you wish you could take back entirely. Despite this, that decision has been made and the consequences had to be dealt with. It would be safe to assume that you have also made some good decisions that you are proud of. There is that word; proud. That decision you made causes you to feel good about yourself. We are not talking about that safe, comforting feeling. We are talking about the feeling you get that makes you want to do more. That feeling becomes addicting. When you apply that feeling of wanting to do more to your dreams, you become unstoppable. This is what we’re talking about when we say “Do something that makes you proud.” In your personal life and your professional life, do the things that make you proud. Do things that you will look back on and say “I’m happy I did that for myself.” Do you want to start that business? Do it. Make that first phone call, make that first sale. Do you want to go out on that date? Ask them out. Do you want to be fit? Keep a consistent gym regiment. Your whole life is in your hands, no one else’s. Make yourself proud. As a secondary piece of this article, we would like to share some products that we think you can use to obtain that fulfilling sense of pride that you’ll be happy with in twenty years. These will be linked through our Amazon affiliates link to make a smoother experience for you.
